You Set The Goals

Adam Cleeve

Adam joins our board with a long career in the Chemicals, Plastics, Building Products and Mineral Processing industries. Much of his career was spent at ICI, which later became Orica. He has held functional roles in technology, sales and marketing, and progressed to operational and general management positions later in his career.

Adam participated in a management buy-out of Australian Vinyls from Orica. Firstly, with the Packer family private company CPHI, then with Colonial First State Private Equity. The business was sold in its entirety to Wesfarmers in 2008.

After a period of consulting with Wesfarmers, Adam left Australian Vinyls and now manages his family investments.

Bryan Mears

Over the last 30 years, Bryan has amassed a significant portfolio of successful senior management and leadership roles of large international businesses. Prior to establishing Balance Consulting Group in 2013, Bryan was Managing Director of Prodrive Automotive Technology (Asia Pacific), where he steered the company through eight years of consistent over budget performance. During his time at Prodrive, Bryan profitably expanded the company into the Asian markets having established an office in Shanghai in 2007.

Bryan is currently the Executive Director of Balance Consulting Group, a private company focused on coaching and mentoring senior executives in small to medium enterprises.

Bryan graduated from Melbourne University School of Management, and was a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Richard Patteron

Richard is passionate about the power of potent and relevant creativity, married with business acumen to help drive business.

Equipped with a degree in Graphic Design, Richard started his career in London with J Walter Thompson (JWT). Rising up through the ranks to board level, this experience taught him that finely tuned strategic directions, coupled with creative excellence are some of the last remaining tools for a business to differentiate itself.

In search of some decent weather and sandy beaches, he came to Australia in the early 1990’s. Finding both, he decided to stay and worked at board level for agencies in Sydney and Melbourne. Eventually Asia called, where he had regional company responsibilities in China, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

He started his own advertising agency which operated for 12 years in Melbourne, and currently runs an innovation company called Two Brains.

In his spare time he is Vice President of South Melbourne Little Athletics Club, a keen yet amateur golfer and a very occasional artist. His personal big scary audacious goal is to have work exhibited in the Archibald Prize. It’s nice to dream.

Ross Palazzesi

Ross brings with him more than 45 years’ of experience in the residential property industry. Before joining Metricon in 1998, Ross was General Manager of Simonds Homes and during this time, Simonds grew to become a leading Victorian homebuilder. His experience includes 23 years at AVJennings where he held various positions, including General Manager for Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

Ross is professionally qualified as a CPA, and is currently the Managing Director of Metricon, where he’s helped drive the company to become Australia’s number one homebuilder for 2015/2016 (HIA Top 100).
